MANILA, Philippines — A Grab driver was arrested in a drug sting in Quezon City on Sunday night.

Kristofer Jay Gavino, 37, allegedly tried to swallow sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu when he was about to be arrested at an apartelle along P. Tuazon Boulevard at around 9 p.m.

Nine sachets of shabu, a cell phone and marked money were seized from Gavino.

Grab said Gavino’s account has been deactivated.

“Once confirmed, he will be perpetually banned and his name becomes part of a blacklist we submit to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board,” it said.
