Fake PDEA officer in Caloocan City arrested for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — A construction worker who pretended to be an intelligence officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was arrested for illegal drugs in Caloocan City yesterday.

Alimona Abbas was arrested at a waiting shed in Barangay 188 for allegedly selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to three persons at around 1 a.m.

Abbas told police that he is an intelligence officer of the PDEA, but was only able to present an expired mission order. He also failed to present a coordination form from PDEA.

Two sachets of shabu were recovered each from Abbas and his wife Rebecca Ramos. Joseph Abrasaldo and Jaymark Villanueva each yielded a sachet of shabu.

Meanwhile, two persons on the PDEA watchlist were arrested in Caloocan Monday night.

Ericson Galgana, a parking attendant, was arrested in a sting with a sachet of shabu in Barangay 28 at around 8 p.m.

Three others – retired Bureau of Fire Protection personnel Luisito Galgana; Teresita Galgana, who is also part of the PDEA watchlist; Gladys Fernandez; and Gerardo dela Cruz – were arrested for allegedly being involved in a drug session.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old suspected pusher and his 17-year-old companion were arrested over a sachet of shabu in Barangay 5 Monday morning.

Redjhon dela Cruz was caught by patrolling police officers handing over a sachet of shabu to the minor along Torres Bugallon street.
