Cop, 6 others killed in shootings

MANILA, Philippines — Seven persons, including a police officer, were killed in gun attacks in Pangasinan, Quezon, Camarines Norte and Cavite on Tuesday.

Police Officer 2 Jalan Maguid of the Las Piñas police was sitting on his motorcycle at the United Muslim Christian Community compound in Barangay San Nicolas 3, Bacoor, Cavite when he was shot.

Police said the killing could be work-related.

In Quezon, Fernando Linatoc, his cousin Jerry Rocafort and a certain Tatay Lino were walking in Barangay Bukal in Tiaong town when they were shot.

Senior Superintendent Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said probers are eyeing a  family feud as the motive for the killings.

Contractor James Igros, 42, was at a house of a certain Florendo Pitpit in Barangay Camangaan, Sison, Pangasinan when he was shot by an unidentified man at around 1:20 p.m.

Cristina Arig, 19, was reportedly shot dead by her partner Michael Sison following an  argument at their house in Barangay Macaboboni, Agno also in Pangasinan. 

Adonis Fuentes, 46, was shot by motorcycle-riding men who entered his auto shop in Barangay Lag-on, Daet at around 6:30 a.m.
