MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — The government has started the construction of at least 50 houses for families affected by the fighting in Mamasapano in 2015 that killed 44 members of the police Special Action Force.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is providing the houses in Barangay Tukanalipao and the town center under its Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for Growth and Empowerment or ARMM-BRIDGE program.

The Department of Public Works and Highways had earlier implemented infrastructure projects worth over P300 million for civilians displaced in the clash.

Around 200 core shelters will also be built in Barangay Pagalamtan in Saguiaran, Lanao del Norte under the ARMM–BRIDGE program for civilians affected by the Marawi siege last year.
