LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A fisherman died while his companion suffered burns after they were hit by lightning in Tinambac, Camarines Sur on Tuesday.
Marjun Baliwas and John Paul de la Cruz were fishing in the waters off Barangay Agay when lightning struck amid monsoon rains at around 8:35 p.m., Chief Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said.
Baliwas died at the scene.
