MANILA, Philippines — Four suspects, including two alleged drug dealers, have been killed in police operations in Laguna, Rizal, Batangas and La Union.

Mark Monty Soriano and Renato Certeza allegedly resisted arrest and engaged anti-narcotics agents in shootouts in Barangay Marinig, Cabuyao, Laguna and Tagpos, Binangonan, Rizal, respectively, yesterday.

In Batangas, one of two unidentified men who allegedly stole a motorcycle owned by Ruel Mata in Barangay San Pedro 1, Malvar fired at responding personnel of the Highway Patrol Group, according to Superintendent Peter Dionesio, HPG-Calabarzon director.

Authorities said security guard Nestle Orbita was shot dead when he grabbed the gun of a police officer and jumped off a police vehicle while being transported to a police station following his arrest in Barangay Magsiping, Luna, La Union on Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Ricardo Layug Jr., La Union police director, said Orbita’s arrest was based on a warrant for murder issued by Caloocan City Judge Thelma Trinidad-de Aguirre.
