PNP finalizes Undas plans

MANILA, Philippines — Security plans ahead of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days are being finalized by the Philippine National Police.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered field commanders to ensure maximum police visibility and tight security protocols across major public cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria and transportation hubs.
“We will deploy police assistance desks, foot patrols, mobile teams and emergency response units in and around cemeteries to ensure that help is always within reach of the public,” Nartatez said.
Malacañang has declared Nov. 1 and 2 as special non-working days.
In Marikina, Mayor Maan Teodoro mobilized the Safe Undas Task Force for clearing operations in public and private cemeteries in the city.
