MANILA, Philippines — A barangay captain in Masbate who was seeking reelection, was shot dead on Friday.
Robert Morado, 50, chairman of Barangay Gabi in Baleno, was driving his motorcyle when two men appeared from behind and shot him several times.
In Agusan del Sur, Francisco Balakan, chairman of Barangay Lago, Tagbina, who is running for another term, was arrested after two guns and several rounds of ammunition were recovered during a raid on his residence also on Friday. – Ben Serrano
