MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit Gonzaga, Cagayan before dawn yesterday, but there was no reported damage or injury.
The tremor occurred at about 3:43 a.m., with its epicenter traced 39 kilometers southeast of Gonzaga, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
It was felt at Intensity 1 in Santiago, Isabela and Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Phivolcs warned the public of possible aftershocks.
