MMDA eyes motorbike lanes on 3 major roads

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to expand its motorcycle lane to three major roads in the metropolis aside from EDSA, an official said yesterday.  

“Non-exclusive” motorcycle lanes will be designated along Marcos Highway from Katipunan Avenue to Sumulong Highway in Quezon City, Roxas Boulevard from NAIA Road in Parañaque City to Anda Circle in Manila and Elliptical Road in Quezon City to Quiapo,  Manila, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said.

The MMDA found that road crashes were significantly reduced along roads with motorcycle lanes: EDSA, Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay, Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City and C-5 Road, according to Lim.
