2 slain in gun attacks

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two persons were killed in separate attacks by unidentified assailants in Bataan and Pampanga on Monday.

Indian money lender Mahabir Singh, 22, was collecting payments from his clients in Barangay Alas-asin, Mariveles town when he was killed at around 10:30 a.m.

The assailant took Singh’s money before fleeing on a waiting motorcycle.

Probers recovered five bullet shells for a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, in Pampanga, Jerry Ramos, 40, was shot dead at his home in San Fernando City.

Witnesses said two men on a motorcycle pulled over in front of Ramos’ house in Barangay San Jose.

The men knocked on Ramos’ house and shot him several times as soon as the victim opened the door.

Police said Ramos was a drug surrenderee.
