MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority again lifted the number coding scheme on Tuesday, the second day of a nationwide strike by transport groups.

In its advisory, the traffic authority said the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program will be lifted for all cities and municipalities in Metro Manila except Makati  and Las Piñas.

MMDA also announced the suspension of the "number coding" scheme on Monday

In its Tuesday announcement, the MMDA also cited inclement weather as a reason for the suspension of the coding scheme.

Tropical Storm Paolo (International name: Lan) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility around midnight Tuesday.

Late Tuesday night, Malacañang announced the suspension of work in government offices and classes in all levels nationwide due to the transport strike.
