ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — At least 37 suspected drug pushers were arrested and 191 sachets of shabu were seized over the weekend in Zamboanga Peninsula, a police official said.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, director of Police Regional Office 9, said the arrest was part of their anti-drugs campaign dubbed as “One Time, Big Time” to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region.
Beltran said the number of the arrests over the weekend continued to surprise them despite the relentless campaign in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
He said the police operatives also recovered three .45 caliber pistols, two .38 revolvers, improvised shotgun, fragmentation grenade, air-soft rifle and drug paraphernalia.
Beltran directed the police to intensify their campaign and to track the source of illegal drugs.
