MANILA, Philippines - A task force has been created to investigate the death of a South Korean missionary in Tanay, Rizal on Friday.

Investigators briefed representatives of the South Korean embassy on the progress of the probe, Senior Superintendent Adriano Enong, Rizal police director, said yesterday.

Enong said they have yet to identify Sim Jae-jok’s assailant, but gave assurance they are doing their best to solve the case at the soonest possible time.

Initial investigation showed that Sim had arrived home after jogging when he found a masked man in his kitchen.

Superintendent Samuel Dolorino, Taytay police chief, said the intruder hit Sim with a shovel and a cooking gas canister before fleeing.

Sim was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Police are eyeing robbery as the motive for the killing as Sim’s laptop and wallet were missing.
