Barangay exec nabbed for malversation

PAGBILAO, Quezon, Philippines – A barangay treasurer here has been arrested for malversation of public funds. 

Cristina Lustado, 37, of Barangay Pinagbayan, was nabbed based on a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 56 Judge Dennis Pastrana. 

Lustado, who encashed checks intended for the honorarium of barangay officials and workers, was accused of using the money for her own personal benefits. She is being held at the Pagbilao police custodial facility.
