Surigao town gets P49-M infra projects

MANILA, Philippines – At least P49 million worth of infrastructure projects have been turned over to the municipal government of Barobo in Surigao del Sur, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said over the weekend.

DAR regional director Julita Ragandang said the multimillion-peso project includes a seven-kilometer farm-to-market road and a bridge.

“The projects are expected to benefit 834 agrarian reform beneficiaries and residents in the villages of Dughan, San Jose and Javier,” Ragandang said.

He thanked the municipal and provincial governments for providing a counterpart fund for the projects.

Gov. Johnny Pimentel thanked DAR for helping improve the lives of the farmers and residents.
