2 dead, 7 hurt in Pangasinan road mishaps

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – Two persons died while seven others were injured in three vehicular accidents in the cities of Urdaneta and San Carlos, both in this province, on Sunday.

The fatalities were identified as Julius Lavarias, 24, and two-year-old Jheremy dela Cruz. Injured were Marlou Marinas, 22; Kevin Bayya, 21; Nestor Custodio, 38; Sarah Custodio, 28; Seadhan Dirk Custodio, 4; Leonardo Bacani, 36, and Juan de Guzman.

Reports said that Marinas, Bayya and Lavarias were in a tricycle when a van driven by Febo Daniwes, 26, hit them in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City.

The three were rushed to the Urdaneta District Hospital where Lavarias was declared dead on arrival.

Dela Cruz was run over by a Mitsubishi Montero as he was playing along the road in Barangay Tiposu, Urdaneta City.

The Custodios were in a tricycle driven by Nestor when a motorcycle driven by Bacani hit them in Barangay Turac, San Carlos City.
