NORTH COTABATO, Philippines - A lone gunman killed late Tuesday an inspector of a bus company while at the public terminal in North Cotabato’s Kabacan town.

The suspect was first seen talking to the victim, Reyno Laguardia, 47, of the Rural Transit Bus Company, before shots rang, causing panic in the surroundings.

Laguardia died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

The gunman casually tucked his pistol in the waist and walked away.

Senior Inspector Ronnie Cordero, chief of the Kabacan municipal police, said probers are yet to determine the identity of the culprit and the motive for the attack.

Cordero said there is a possibility that an old grudge may have led to the murder of Laguardia.

Cordero said the suspect was daring enough to perpetrate the atrocity inside the Kabacan bus terminal, which is only about 20 meters away from a roadside Army detachment.
