2 dead from resto shooting in Cebu, Chinese consul wounded

MANILA, Philippines – Chinese Consul General Song Ronghua was wounded from a shooting incident inside a restaurant in Cebu City on Wednesday afternoon while his two companions, Hui Li and Sun Shen Lee were killed, according to reports from The STAR.

Radio reports said Ronghua and group of Chinese nationals were attending a birthday celebration at the Lighthouse Restaurant when two armed men fired at them.

According to STAR and The Freeman, the two suspects identified as Liqing Liang and Guo Jing, also Chinese nationals and employees of the Chinese consulate office were immediately arrested. The suspects carry .45 caliber pistol.

The surveillance camera at the Lighthouse restaurant revealed that there was an argument ensued prior to the shooting. However, the local authorities have yet to identify the motive behind the attack. - Rosette Adel with reports from The Freeman
