Shabu sachets seized in Butuan jail

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – At least 44 sachets of suspected shabu were seized during a surprise inspection of the jail here on Wednesday.

A report of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-13 said a majority of the sachets of the illegal drug were found in the cell of a certain Edsel Odever. 

Crime laboratory personnel at the Police Regional Office-13 said laboratory tests of the seized drugs are ongoing. 

BJMP-13 officials are investigating how the illegal drugs were sneaked into the cells given the layer of inspection of those coming in and out of the facility.
