Woman slain in ambush

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A woman was killed and another was wounded in an ambush along Barangay Bulihan road in Silang, Cavite, Tuesday night.

Gemalyn Radam, 27, a resident of Barangay Yakal, died at the scene from a gunshot to the head, Chief Inspector Alexy Sonido, Silang  police chief, said yesterday.

Mary Ann Casas Alonzo, 30, who was hit in the body, was brought to a provincial hospital. An unidentified companion of the victims was unhurt.

Sonido said the victims were on their way home from a remittance center when they were waylaid by motorcycle-riding gunmen at  6:15 p.m.

Police are eyeing robbery and a grudge as the motives for the killing.
