5 hurt in La Union road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Five persons were hurt when a tricycle that was hit by a motorcycle bumped into a six-wheeler truck along the national highway in Barangay Sta. Rita West in Aringay, La Union on Monday.

Police Officer 3 Rogelio Quinit said the accident occurred when motorcycle driver Danny Panelo, 23, hit the tricycle that John Ronald Aloot, 22, was driving when it suddenly stopped.

The impact sent Aloot’s tricycle to the opposite lane, where a six-wheeler truck hit it.

Panelo and the passengers of the tricycle – Grace, 42; Kevin, 9; and Christopher, 14, all surnamed Ramirez – were brought to the La Union Medical Center.

Panelo surrendered to the police.
