7 MM roads to undergo repairs this weekend

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday advised motorists to take alternative routes this coming weekend as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be doing another round of road reblocking and repairs.

The MMDA said that starting Friday night until October 20, seven major routes in Metro Manila will undergo road reblocking and repair.

The agency said that the following roads will be affected by the reblocking and repair works Friday around 10 p.m.: 

SOUTHBOUND:

·        along Araneta Avenue from Maria Clara Street to Quezon Avenue, 2nd lane

·        along Fairview Avenue from Fairlane Street to Camaro Street, 2nd lane

·        along Mindanao Avenue (2nd lane)

·        along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue / C-5 between Mercury Avenue and Richmond Avenue (2nd lane)

NORTHBOUND

·        along C.P. Garcia Avenue, Quezon City, University Avenue to Maginhawa Street (2nd lane)

WESTBOUND / EASTBOUND

·        along Congressional Avenue (westbound and eastbound)

·       along Congressional Avenue Extension (2nd lane, westbound and east bound)

Neomi Recio, head of the MMDA Traffic Engineering Center, said the areas to undergo reblocking are recommended by DPWH – National Capital Region Director Reynaldo Tagudando.

All affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, MMDA noted.
