Bullet-riddled body of judge's niece found in Sultan Kudarat

SULTAN Kudarat, Philippines - Policemen on Thursday found dead in a secluded district in Lambayong town the missing niece of a local court judge, whose sheriff was shot dead by two unidentified men in a nearby town on Tuesday.

Police identified the fatality as Rubilyn Gleo, niece of Regional Trial Court Branch 19 Judge Renato Gleo.

The judge's niece was reported missing on Tuesday, the same day when Gleo's court sheriff Edwin Cabug was shot dead in his residence's compound in Isulan town.

Cabug was at the front yard when two men onboard a motorcycle repeatedly shot him with .45 pistols. The victim died on the spot.

Meanwhile, police said that the body of the judge's niece was found riddled with bullets.

The local police said that the killings of the judge's niece and the court sheriff could be related and perpetrated by the same group.

Investigators are now reviewing the cases being handled by the judge.
