P'sinan gets Seal of Good Housekeeping

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Gov. Amado Espino Jr. received the Seal of Good Housekeeping 2011 Award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the flag-raising ceremony here on Monday.

The award was signed by the late DILG secretary Jesse Robredo, Region 1 director Corazon Guray, and provincial director Reggie Colisao.

Espino thanked the provincial folk, especially the provincial employees for performing their best in rendering excellent public service.

Guray said the award proves that Pangasinan has shown itself to be a cut above the rest in all aspects of good housekeeping, including fiscal management.

“There was no adverse report from the Commission on Audit in Pangasinan,” Guray said.

The Seal of Good Housekeeping recognizes good governance, with the recipient local government scoring high in planning, budgeting, revenue mobilization, financial management and budget execution, procurement and resource mobilization.

Meanwhile, Pangasinan is again included as one of the three nominees for Region 1’s Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award.

Espino said the province would not rest on its laurels, adding that his administration would continue to aspire to be the best performing province in the country from its current stature as the fourth best.

Also, last Monday, the provincial government honored three soldiers and two policemen, all Pangasinenses, for being included in The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS) and the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS), respectively.

The awardees were TOPS awardees Capt. Erick Kagaoan, a director at the Philippine Navy; Col. Raul Tangco of the Philippine Military Academy; and Senior M/Sgt. Augusto Reyes of the Philippine Air Force.

Also feted were COPS awardees Superintendent Belli Bagaas Tamayo of Calasiao town, and PO3 Eduardo de Guzman Santiago of Bayambang town.
