Retired teacher hacked to death in Batanes

BASCO, Batanes, Philippines – Peace in this northernmost province was rattled by the hacking to death of a 76-year-old retired public school teacher in his piggery in this capital town last Sunday afternoon.

Medical personnel of the Batanes General Hospital who rushed to the piggery of Benifredo Caccam in Barangay San Antonio found him with at least seven hack wounds in the head. Police were still clueless on the killing.
