Sketch of UP student's attacker out

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna ,Philippines  – Police released yesterday the computerized sketch of one of two robbery suspects who stabbed and wounded a 19-year-old student of the University of the Philippines-Open University in Los Baños town on the night of March 9.

The victim, Peter Jairron Cruz, an Associate in Arts student of UP-OU, des-cribed one of his attackers as between 30 and 35 years old, five-foot, four-inch tall, and has fair complexion and medium build.

Chief Inspector Orlando Castil Jr., Laguna chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, admitted though that police were still clueless who Cruz’s attackers were, except saying they belong to an “akyat-bahay” gang.

Cruz put up a fight when he saw the two robbers carrying his laptop as he arrived home in Rhoda Subdivision in Los Baños. He was stabbed in the abdomen and both arms.

The incident came following public indignation over the killing of UPLB student Ray Bernard Peñaranda in another robbery in Los Baños last March 4. Three suspects are now in police custody.
