Seaman kills fiancée, mom

SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A seaman who had just arrived home is now the subject of a manhunt for killing his girlfriend and her mother in Isabela Saturday.

Police said Abe Astacio, who hails from Barangay Osmeña here, allegedly stabbed dead his girlfriend, Catherine Galamay, 25, and her mother, Lita, both of Alicia town’s Paddad village. 

Police said what Astacio thought would be a happy reunion went awry when he reportedly found out that Galamay was set to marry someone else.

Reports said Astacio and Galamay were engaged to be married and that he was sending her money regularly. – Charlie Lagasca, Raymund Catindig
