BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Alleged hired killers riding in tandem on a motorcycle gunned down a barangay kagawad in Magsingal town in Ilocos Sur Friday.
Maas-asin barangay kagawad Rodolfo Castillo Parbo, 50, a tricycle driver, succumbed to at least five wounds from a caliber 45 firearm.
The village official was reportedly waiting for customers at the tricycle terminal in Barangay San Lucas, when the suspects peppered him with bullets.
The ambush came amid growing criticisms on unabated killings in the province and in nearby Ilocos Norte.
