Acetylene gang member collared

BALER, Aurora , Philippines  – Police have arrested a member of the dreaded “Acetylene Gang” robbery-holdup group operating in the provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija and this province in an operation in this capital town.

In a report to Chief Superintendent Arturo Cacdac, Philippine National Police regional director Central Luzon Police, provincial police director Senior Superintendent Romulo Esteban identified the suspect as Antonio Tumelang alias Tony, 35, of Barangay Reserva here.

Tumelang was arrested by operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division over the weekend.

Tumelang, tagged as a member of the robbery group, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on Nov. 30, 2005 by Judge Cesar Sotero of Paniqui, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 676.

The suspect was brought to the intelligence division in Camp Olivas.

Cacdac said he directed all the seven provincial directors in the region to intensify  “Manhunt Bravo” to ensure the arrest of wanted persons with pending warrants.   – Manny Galvez
