Floods displace Northern Mindanao folk

-

Thousands of people have been displaced due to landslides and widespread flooding in northern Mindanao, which have left at least three persons dead.

As of yesterday, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said vast areas in the two Misamis provinces were still affected by widespread flooding.

The fatalities were reported in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Gingoog, which along with Oroquieta City and 14 towns in the region, were still heavily flooded from rains caused by the tail-end of a cold front.

The floods have displaced more than 13,000 families in Cagayan de Oro alone.   – Jaime Laude, Bong Fabe
