Cop’s wife denies being the suspect in swindling case

-
SAN FERNANDO CITY — Could it be a case of mistaken identity?

Dulce Macusi, the wife of Superintendent Rolando Macusi, this city’s relieved police chief, finally showed up yesterday to deny being the woman, supposedly her namesake, who is now being hunted for swindling car rental firms.

"I want to clear my name…Pangalan ko ang ginamit sa TV pero iba ang mukha (My name was mentioned on TV but they showed a different face)," said Mrs. Macusi, now a plain housewife after retiring from the Philippine National Bank in 1998.

According to reports, the Task Force Jericho has been tracking down a certain Aminah "Dulce" Macusi for failing to return several vehicles to at least seven car rental companies.

The task force even presented 21 vehicles recovered in Angeles City to Interior and Local Government Secretary Jose Lina the other day.

Mrs. Macusi said she is willing to face the TV cameras to clear her name. She is a sister of Ibana, Batanes Mayor Anastacio Barsana and a first cousin of Batanes Rep. Florencio Abad. — Vic Alhambra Jr.
