Heath Jornales discovers love for OPM, writing own songs

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Heath Jornales showed that he can carry a tune and play the guitar while inside the famous "Pinoy Big Brother" house that it is not a surprise to catch him at one of the recent music-related events in Pampanga.
GMA-7's promising young heartthrob was among those who gathered at Clark to enjoy the JBL Audio Playground, which featured musical acts Ben&Ben, Dionela, G22, Hori7on and Al James perform in front of OPM (Original Pilipino Music) lovers despite the heavy rain.
In an exclusive interview with Philstar.com, Heath said he really loves music but just got recently introduced to OPM. He counts IV of Spades and Ben&Ben as favorite groups.
"Mahilig po ako sa music kasi po 'yung family ko grew up with music as well. Kahit sa umaga 'pag gising, may tumutugtog talagang music," said the 17-year-old actor.
Heath is the son of character actor Michael Roy Jornales, who started as a child actor and eventually played roles in popular TV like the original 2005 show "Encantadia."
"Ako naman po sa OPM, medyo late ako na-introduce sa OPM since puro English songs lang ang pinapakinggan ko noon. 'Yung love ko for OPM nag-grow nong introduce ako sa bandang IV of Spades so ayon po sa isang lodicakes ko rin pati 'yung Ben&Ben. Trip ko din 'yung music nila so ayon don nabuo 'yung love ko for OPM," he added.
Heath said that he is also a singer and songwriter aside from being an actor. He released his own composition, "Back To You," under StarPop.
"I'm a singer and songwriter as well. Gumagawa rin po ako ng mga Tagalog songs pero mostly English," Heath added.
The JBL Audio Playground was a weekend event that started with a community fun run, followed by brand flash sales and a Mobile Legends tournament featuring the JBL Quantum 650 headphones. Creative sessions also took center stage, including DJ workshops and live sets by DJ Ian Sndrz, dance workshops led by UPeepz, and skate park showcases throughout the day.

It is designed for singing sessions, livestreams, and casual content creation alike, the lightweight mics feature Voice Boost support for clearer high notes, natural reverb, AI noise suppression, and up to six hours of playtime.
For an even more complete karaoke experience, the PartyBox Encore 2 Plus and PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus take the EasySing ecosystem further by integrating built-in AI Vocal Removal directly into the speakers themselves. With wireless microphones, real-time vocal controls, and immersive party lighting, both models turn any space into an instant karaoke stage powered by JBL Pro Sound.
