Precious Paula Nicole, Brigiding headline The Spirits Library’s sold-out drag spectacle

MANILA, Philippines — The Spirits Library has long built its reputation around expertly crafted cocktails, rare spirits and intimate nights in Poblacion. But for one unforgettable evening, the beloved bar traded quiet conversations for glitter, applause and unapologetic drag excellence as it hosted its first-ever drag show—an event that sold out in just two days.
What began as a bold experiment quickly became one of the most talked-about nights in the city’s nightlife scene, drawing together loyal patrons and passionate drag fans under one roof.
The result was a vibrant collision of performance art, mixology and community—proof that Manila’s nightlife continues to evolve in exciting and inclusive ways.
At the center of the spectacle were some of the Philippines’ most celebrated drag performers, led by Drag Race Philippines season 1 winner Precious Paula Nicole and season 1 contestant Brigiding.
Their presence alone was enough to electrify the room, with guests eagerly packing the venue early in anticipation of every reveal, dance break and runway-worthy entrance.
Precious Paula Nicole delivered the commanding stage presence fans have come to expect, effortlessly blending glamour, wit and audience interaction throughout the night.
Brigiding, meanwhile, brought high-energy performances that transformed the intimate cocktail bar into a full-blown drag stage, proving that charisma and performance power need no massive arena.
To mark the occasion, The Spirits Library created five limited-edition cocktails inspired by the queens themselves. Equal parts playful and refined, each drink reflected the personalities and aesthetics of the performers while staying true to the bar’s signature approach to craft cocktails.
Under the “Queens of the Stage” lineup, guests sipped on the “Precious Paula Nicole,” a vibrant mix of Plantation 3 Star, Maraschino liqueur, lemon, seven spice and cola foam.
The “Brigiding” cocktail leaned decadent and tropical, combining Ketel One Vodka, Mango Paradise, Giffard Madagascar Vanille, lemon and crushed graham.
The “AFAB Queens” cocktail offered a sparkling blend of Cuervo Traditional Silver, Genepy, Aperol, lime, Prosecco and amaranth flower—an elegant nod to diversity within drag culture.
Meanwhile, the “Vowel Divas” served a more daring flavor profile, pairing Benchmark Bourbon with roasted eggplant syrup and chocolate bitters, showcasing Spirits Library’s willingness to push cocktail boundaries as much as the performers push creative ones.
Each cocktail was priced at P500 and was exclusively available during the event, adding another layer of anticipation for guests eager to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
Throughout the night, the energy inside The Spirits Library felt less like a one-time gimmick and more like the beginning of something bigger. Guests cheered between cocktail rounds, posed for photos with performers, and embraced the rare intimacy of seeing nationally recognized drag artists in such a close-knit setting.
For The Spirits Library, the event represented more than just a successful themed night—it was a statement about the kind of experiences modern nightlife audiences are looking for: immersive, collaborative and community-driven.

If the overwhelming response is any indication, this first drag showcase will not be the last. Spirits Library has already hinted at more drag-centered events and collaborations in the future, giving fans another reason to keep an eye on the bar’s next chapter.
For now, one thing is clear: Spirits Library has proven that cocktails and drag make a dazzling pairing, and Manila nightlife is all the better for it.
