3 drug suspects killed

MANILA, Philippines - At least three more suspected drug users and pushers were killed in Metro Manila since Sunday.

In Manila, Genesis Labiana, 38, was shot dead in Parola Compound, Tondo just before 11 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was walking in front of Gate 1 when a man shot him repeatedly with a .45 caliber pistol, according to Police Officer 3 Bernardo Cayabyab.

Labiana was still clutching four sachets of shabu wrapped in a P20 bill in his left hand when police officers found his body.

None of the residents, who said the victim was a known pusher, were willing to talk about the incident, police said.

In Marikina City, Rommel Parsaligan, 30, was shot dead in a drug bust at Doña Petra Subdivision in Barangay Tumana at past 3 p.m. Sunday.

Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, Eastern Police District director, said Marikina police officers arranged to buy a sachet of shabu worth P300 from Parsaligan, who shot at the undercover policeman when he sensed the drug deal was a sting.

The suspect missed, and the undercover police officer pulled out his gun and shot Parsaligan.

The suspect yielded a .38 caliber revolver, a green pouch containing shabu and the marked money.

In Pasig City, a suspected pusher identified only as Machete was killed in an ambush by men in a van at around 3 p.m. yesterday.

Machete was walking along Visitacion street in Barangay San Joaquin when a white van stopped near him.

Witnesses said that before shooting him, the assailants shouted that since he did not want to stop peddling drugs, “ito ang para sa iyo (this is for you).”

Sapitula said Machete had five sachets of shabu in his pants pockets and drug paraphernalia.
