Man killed in kidnap try

MANILA, Philippines - A 30-year-old man was killed when he fought off three men who tried to kidnap him at his home in Sampaloc, Manila Thursday night.

Daniel Forlales was in his house on Felina street when three men arrived in a Toyota Fortuner (AIA-4576) at around 9:30 p.m., according to Police Officer 3 Marlon San Pedro, Manila Police District homicide investigator.

Witnesses saw the three men drag Forlales from his home. When the victim struggled to prevent the men from forcing him into their car, the men shot him and sped away.

San Pedro said they are coordinating with the Land Transportation Office to determine the owner of the vehicle.
