Body stuffed in water drum in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - The body of an unidentified man was found stuffed in a drum along Tanigue street in Caloocan City yesterday morning.

Barangay 14 chairman Alex Mangasar described the victim as around 5’3” tall, clad in a white shirt and denim shorts, and bearing several tattoos, including that of the jailhouse Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang.

The body bore signs of torture – the victim’s face had been beaten in – and a fan belt, supposedly used to strangle him, was looped around his neck, police said.

The victim was also hogtied.

Last Friday, a man was found dead in a canal on Guava Road in Barangay Potrero, Malabon. The head of the victim, who was hogtied, was wrapped with duct tape and he had been shot behind his right ear.

Malabon police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad Jr. said a resident saw two men in a taxi dumping the body at past midnight Friday.

No one has claimed the bodies, which were brought to the Oakleaf Funeral Homes.
