MANILA, Philippines - An engineering school fully subsidized by the Las Piñas City government will soon rise, an official said yesterday.
Mayor Vergel Aguilar said in a statement that the engineering school will address the demand for engineering graduates who know how to deal with structural adjustments due to extreme weather conditions brought by climate change.
The engineering school is in addition to the free four-year business degree given to 2,000 poor but deserving students at the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Piñas every school year since the school started operating in 1998.
