Fires hit San Juan, Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - Two fires broke out in San Juan and Pasig City yesterday.

Nobody was injured in the fires that hit the building housing the religious sect Jehovah’s Witnesses in San Juan and the Universal Robina Corp. (URC) compound in Pasig City.

In San Juan, the fire broke out at the building on F. Salvador street in Barangay Pedro Cruz at past 9 a.m.

The fire reached second alarm before firemen put it under control several minutes later. Damage to property was placed at P500,000.

In Pasig City, the fire started in a building housing animal feed and other agro-industrial products at the URC compound at around 11:30 a.m. The fire also reached second alarm.

Probers are still investigating the cause of the two fires.
