MANILA, Philippines - Police yesterday said the burglars who tunneled into a supermarket at the Alabang Town Center (ATC) used the drainage system near Masagana Creek to enter the mall.
The creek, located in Barangay Alabang, is nearly a kilometer away from ATC, according to Chief Inspector Giovanni Martinez, head of the city police intelligence unit.
From the drainpipes, the burglars dug a 20-meter tunnel that ended at the lobby of the Makati Supermart. They ransacked the offices and opened the vault, where Sunday’s earnings were kept for deposit on Monday.
