Tanod shot dead in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A barangay tanod was shot dead while sleeping in his house in Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila Saturday night.

Roberto Aguirre, 39, was shot once in the face by a still unidentified attacker at around 6:45 p.m.

Senior Police Officer 1 Ramir Dimagiba said Aguirre was with his partner, Evangeline Quisoc, and their children when he was shot.

Quisoc brought Aguirre to the Ospital ng Maynila, where he was declared dead on arrival.
