BI asked to ban 3 cops from leaving Phl

MANILA, Philippines -   The Pasay City police requested the Bureau of Immigration Monday to include three former Quezon City cops in their watch list after a trial court ordered their arrest in connection with slay try on an Indian sect president last December.

Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton, city police chief, said their request was made after Chief Inspector Edwin Faycho, former head of the Quezon City Police District anti-drug unit, and his men Police Officer 2 Edwin Faculdar and PO1 Mark Edward Zapata could not be found at their listed addresses.

The three will join Indians Gurdanshan Singh, Saudagar Singh, Deepak Kumar and Baldev Singh Brar, their co-accused in the case, in the police’s watch list request.

The seven are wanted for the attack on Khalsidawan Inc. president James Kumar; the killing of his friends Andie Ngie and Ferdinand Ret; and the shooting of Senior Inspector Renato Apolinario, who rushed to Kumar’s aid on Dec. 20, 2010.

Last Friday, Judge Maria Rosario Ragasa of Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 108 ordered the respondents’ arrest. Cuaton said the Indians could not leave the country because they have been placed on the BI’s list since January 15.
