A Dutch businessman was found dead by his Filipina wife yesterday in their bedroom in Caloocan City.
Chief Inspector Jose Valencia, city police investigation chief, said Ronald de Boer, 45, was found by his wife Marife lying on his back on the sofa at around 2 p.m., with blood oozing from his head and nose.
Crime scene investigator Senior Inspector Jessie de la Rosa said a 9mm Beretta, apparently the fatal weapon, was found on De Boer’s chest.
Probers found a suicide note allegedly written by the victim, saying he suspected his wife of having an affair with another man. The gun is registered in Marife’s name.
Although the police said they have no suspects, Marife and househelp Epehnia Gabonia were subjected to a paraffin test to determine if they had recently fired a gun as standard operating procedure.
The police is coordinating with the Dutch Embassy for the repatriation of De Boer’s body. – Jerry Botial
