Traffic rerouted in Mandaluyong

In line with the weeklong celebration of Mandaluyong City’s 61st Liberation Day and 12th cityhood anniversary, traffic will be rerouted in some portions of the city to give way to events on Feb. 5, 6, 7 and 9.

A bicycle tournament along Maysilo and San Francisco streets will close the area to motorists from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Feb. 5.

On Feb. 6, the north-bound lane of Boni Avenue fronting the Mandaluyong City Medical Center will be closed to traffic from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. A special flag raising ceremony will be held in the area in connection with the inaugural blessing of the newly renovated main building of the city hospital.

A groundbreaking ceremony (Nueve de Febrero Elementary School annex building) on Nueve de Febrero street on Feb. 7 will also close the stretch from a portion of Rodriguez to Martinez from 7 a.m. to noon.

On Feb. 9, a program at the city’s Liberation Marker will close Panaderos street and a lane of Kalentong to traffic at 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Heavy traffic is expected as the city’s annual civic parade will commence at 2 p.m. at Don Bosco College and will pass through Shaw Boulevard, A. Bonifacio, A. Luan, and Rev. Aglipay streets, western portion of Boni Avenue, and Maysilo Circle.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
