Police arrest Pasay jail escapee

Police intelligence agents re-arrested Friday a notorious member of a bus and FX taxi robbery gang who bolted the Pasay City Jail three months ago.

Nabbed by elements of the Regional Intelligence and Special Operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), was escapee Wilfredo Leosanida.

Leosanida is facing robbery charges in the Pasay City Regional Trial Court for bus and FX taxi holdups. Detained at the Pasay City Jail for robbery and other cases, Leosanida escaped last May 9, under mysterious circumstances.

NCRPO chief, Deputy Director General Edgar Galvante, said Leosanida was cornered by police agents at his residence in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite.

Police files showed that aside from his alleged involvement in bus and robbery holdups, Leosanida has pending cases for illegal gun possession; direct assault, frustrated homicide and attempted murder.

Pasay City Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Judge Maria Cancino-Erum had also issued a warrant of arrest for the suspect in a estafa case.

Meanwhile, police in Valenzuela City busted a notorious holdup gang, nabbing four members, including the leader, who were attempting a daylight robbery.

Superintendent Nemesio Neron, Valenzuela City police chief, identified the suspects as Danilo Santos, 29, Rick Janabi, 30, Ruben Ullin, 27, all natives of Samar, and their alleged leader, Edwin Cui, of Area 1, Family Compound, Karuhatan, Valenzuela City. –Jaime Laude and PeteLaude
