Talisay encourages planting of vegetables

CEBU, Philippines -  Talisay City Mayor Johnny Delos Reyes has started to promote the vegetable planting program by leading job order workers in cultivating some idle lots in the barangays. 

The project, called “Green Valley Program,” aims to make idle backyard areas productive.

De los Reyes said the project is crucial in promoting the objectives of the country’s food security program.

Some job order workers do the tilling and planting. Being grown are garlic, lettuce, leafy vegetables, peppers, and other high-value crops.  (FREEMAN)
