Consolacion schedules reforestation

CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Consolacion will initiate a massive reforestation of mountains in barangays in response to reports that most of these mountains are prone to landslides owing to lack of trees.

The Mines and Geo-Sciences Bureau-7 has advised Metro Cebu officials to closely monitor their barangays.

Residents are also advised to relocate to safer places or be vigilant especially during heavy rains.

Mayor Teresa Alegado said she has directed all barangay captains to plant trees.

Last month, Alegado led the planting of trees in the barangays. (FREEMAN)
