As Lapu-Lapu hosts Davis Cup again new traffic scheme in effect Feb. 1, 2, 3

CEBU, Philippines -  A temporary traffic scheme will be in effect for the duration of the Davis Cup on February 1, 2, and 3 at the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa in barangay Marigondon.

The left side of the main road starting from the crossroads in barangay Marigondon up to Plantation Bay Resort and Spa will be utilized as a parking area.

On the other hand, parking areas inside Plantation Bay have also been designated.

Motorists coming from Plantation Bay and nearby resorts should turn left to an access road going to barangay Suba-Basbas, exit to Kadulang access road.

The Philippine Davis Cup team is hoping to win as Lapu-Lapu City plays host to the Davis Cup for the third time this year against Syria.

In 2011, it hosted the tie against Japan and Chinese Taipei. Both times, the Philippines lost.

But when the Philippines hosted two more ties last yearin Camarines Sur in February against Pakistan and Manila in April against Pacific Oceania, the Phl team won.

The Davis Cup is the premier international team even in men’s tennis.  (FREEMAN)
