Boy, 8, “drowns”

CEBU, Philippines - An eight-year-old boy reportedly drowned in a river not far from his house at around 5 in the afternoon yesterday.

The child was identified as Jerico De Luna, 8, a resident of sitio Verde in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

PO2 Roy Lofranco told The Freeman that the father had seen the boy playing near the river.

Moments later, he saw his son already floating in the river.

The boy was taken to the Talisay City District Hospital where he was declared dead.

Lofranco said the case will be investigated to determine the real cause of the boy’s death. (FREEMAN)
