CEBU, Philippines - A fugitive wanted for murder for almost four years was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Bureau in barangay San Roque, Talisay City yesterday morning.
Joseph Padin, of legal age, and a resident of San Roque in Talisay was arrested by SPO1 Jeffrey Diola of CIB along with PO2 Roy Lofranco and PO1 Euwen Pitogo of the Talisay City Police Station on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court branch 20 Judge Bienvenido Saniel Jr. of Branch 20.
Padin was brought to the Cebu City Police Office detention cell.
Lofranco said Padin was implicated in a 2008 murder case in barangay Tisa, Cebu City. He was allegedly with Marlon Osorno and Monosto Baylosis alias “Esto.”
Lofranco said that while Osorno and Baylosis were immediately arrested, Padin fled to Talibon town in Bohol where he remained in hiding.
No bail has been granted to any of the suspects. - THE FREEMAN
